A list of all known special and limited editions of the Breitling Cosmonaute

Breitling has a long tradition of special editions. Because it's already a very special timepiece from the start, and the dial is already cluttered enough, only a few special editions of the Breitling Cosmonaute have been made. Here are those that have been identified: VAC, 12021 first display-back version, Scott Carpenter, Ghibli, Hussein of Jordan, A12023 second display-back version, and the Limited Edition 2010.
Cosmonaute VAC
These watches were sold for the Valiant Air Command museum building fund.
Thanks to Bill C. and P.W. E.
Cosmonaute D12021
The A12021 (also produced as a D12021 with yellow gold bezel)
was the first Série Spéciale
with a transparent caseback
to display the Caliber 12 movement.
It was produced for the Japanese market only
and is very similar to the A12023.
Cosmonaute Scott Carpenter
The Scott Carpenter edition was made to commemorate the Aurora 7 space mission.
Cosmonaute Ghibli/Porco Rosso (?)
This one is still very mysterious to me; I don't even know its formal name. With its red hands and black subdials, that's certainly a unusual piece. Its caseback shows several float boats. The artwork apparently comes from the animation movie Porco Rosso directed by Miyazaki from Studio Ghibli.
Cosmonaute “Hussein of Jordan”
Around 20 pieces of this watch may have been produced.
This watch may have been produced to be offered to important guests of the King of Jordan.
Cosmonaute A12023 with see-through caseback
The A12023 special edition of the Cosmonaute has a see-through caseback. It is visually very similar to the A12021 model.

Cosmonaute Limited Edition (Photo credit: Breitling)
This special edition includes a white inner ring for the durations scale, and an Air Racer bracelet.
Cosmonaute 50th Anniversary limited edition (Photo credit: Breitling)
This commemorative edition is powered by the new hand-wound Caliber 02. Its case-back is engraved with the official emblem of the Mercury 7/Aurora 7 space mission, as well as a Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion scale.
Cosmonaute Blacksteel Limited Edition (Photo credit: Breitling)
This limited edition gets Breitling's Blacksteel treatment for an all-black watch. Its case-back is also engraved with the emblem of the Aurora 7 mission.
