Presentation

The Breitling SuperOcean has the characteristics of the diver's/military style watches, like the hour's arabics written both in 12- and 24-hour format.

The dial of a black SuperOcean A17360 from 2006

The regular SuperOcean was presented with 3 dial options: black, blue or coral. Black and blue are the biggest sellers. The SuperOcean Professional was produced with either black or yellow.

The hour arabics are painted with phosphorescent Luminova, to be read in the dark. The numbers 6, 9 and 12 are a bit larger.

The early SuperOceans have a 100th of hours scale, whereas the SuperOcean Professional, like all post-2002 SuperOceans, comes with 12 little luminous hour markers all around the dial.

The SuperOcean Professional was the first SuperOcean dial to sport an applied “Winged B” logo in solid white gold. (Since 1984, this “new” logo displays an anchor, showing Breitling's interest for underwater activities.)

Minute's and hour's hands are matt, and filled with Luminova. Both hands have a small separator inside them. The sweeping second's hand has a red tip with a luminous dot.

The dial features an outlined date window, provided by the B17 movement, at 3 o'clock.
